IMPORTANT: New NeLM site to be launched tomorrow - all users will need to re-subscribe to continue receiving the daily email updates.
We will be launching the new platform for NeLM tomorrow (Thursday 10th July). This means that you will need to re-subscribe to ensure that you continue to receive your daily email updates. The new version of the website will enable us to provide you with an update service that more closely meets your specific information requirements about medicines. From Wednesday the daily email update will consist of news, notification about new evidence concerning medicines (classified as drug specific reviews, disease-orientated reviews, drug- class focussed reviews, reviews about adverse effects and reviews that focus on complementary medicine) as well as other updates.
If you are an NHS user, please complete the registration form accessed from the "Register" hyperlink text at the top right hand side of the screen. This will enable you to access all areas of the website including additional information about horizon scanning, drug shortages and access to NPA resources under “Community Areas”. You will receive a registration confirmation email. Only after you follow the link from the email will you be able to access NHS restricted material.
You will then need to click on "Update Newsletter Subscription" and select "Horizon Scanning" if you wish this NHS restricted material to be included in your Newsletter
If you are a non-NHS user simply click on the box titled "NeLM newsletter" - in this case all we require is an email address and you will get a daily email update notifying you about new material, and allowing you access to that material, on all areas of the website except those listed above which are restricted to NHS users.
In both cases by selecting from the options offered you can ensure that you are kept informed when particular areas on the site are updated or when products which are relevant to the medical specialities that you have selected are updated. Should you choose the personalisation option you will receive notification of all the news added to the site that day but only details of other additions to the site that are relevant to your chosen area(s) of interest. This is under review and we would value your feedback on whether this best meets your requirements.
Please note that users who request that the Newsletter is sent to their nhs.net emails, the Newsletter will look a little different. We are hoping to improve the formatting of the Newsletter being sent to nhs.net emails.
Please be aware that the RSS feed URLs will be changing so you will also need to update your RSS readers.
Administrators of websites that link to NeLM records, please accept our apologies as our deep-link urls will be changing. Unfortunately as the final data migration is occurring immediately prior to launch you will not be able to change your links till the new NeLM site is launched.
If you were a trial volunteer and subscribed to the Newsletter on the new site prior to the launch date you will need to update your subscription preferences as the NeLM site areas have changed slightly.
Finally we hope that you find the new site more intuitive and user friendly and we would welcome your feedback (click on Site Feedback at the top of the site, or contact us at nelm_support@gstt.nhs.uk) on any aspect of this version. It is however important to note that we will be introducing some more features to the site during the next 6-9 months and again we would welcome volunteers to assess these and provide feedback (again please click on Site Feedback or contact us at nelm_support@gstt.nhs.uk).
Thank you for your support for NeLM over the last 3 years and DrugInfoZone for the 4 years before that and we hope that you find that the new site continues to meet your evolving information needs.
